2008 Beijing Olympics Elimination Bracket: The Fiber-Filled Four

Things are winding down as we head into the Semifinals. #4 Synchronized Swimming continues to roll over the competition, but they're not the only Cinderella's at this dance. Darkhorse #6 Table Tennis pulled out the "decisive decision" over #1 Swimming in what became the biggest upset of the Tournament as far as seeding goes (I'm still floored by Synchro getting past basketball). Finally, 16 years after the '92 Olympics, Dan and Dave finally won something as #1 Track and Field coasted by #3 Volleyball. Click on the image below to see what the bracket looks like:

So here we are, at the end of the Road to the Fiber-Filled Four. Let's get it on.

#4 Synchronized Swimming v. #6 Table Tennis

This one should be a real deathmatch. Not much can be said about these two that hasn't been said before. One focuses play around bouncing balls, and the other won't let you compete in the Olympics if you've got them.

#1 Gymnastics v. #1 Track and Field
It's funny how this bracket worked out - on one side, we've got the overachieving underdogs, and on this side, we've got the two powerhouses who were supposed to get to this point. But, really, doesn't this all come down to whether Allison Stokke will be in Beijing? I don't think she will be, but I'm not going to pass up an opportunity to post her picture.

Voting will close Monday at Midnight.

Nice work. I really like schronized swimming to take it all now. I'm definitely tuning for the championship match!
