The Worst National Anthem Performances

Happy 4th of July, everyone. We here at the Muffin thought the best way to celebrate would be look back at some of the worst national anthem performances in sports. But before we do that - we understand that each of the following performers has more balls than we'll ever have. With that said, these are pretty terrible renditions of the Star Spangled Banner.

Carl Lewis. The CLASSIC.




Very Confused Police Officer. Sure, it's not a sporting event. But it's still pretty bad.


R. Kelly. Wow. Only R. Kelly. Since when do we clap during the National Anthem?


Disability Awareness Day at Fenway Park. Alright, we do feel kinda bad including this among the "worst." But it's not like it's done well, is it? If we say it's "inspiring", are we off the hook?


Nicole. That's it, apparently. Just Nicole.


Natalie...um...who? Eh, screw it, Mo Cheeks stole the show.


"Forgetful Hockey Woman" from Canada. Ice is slippery.


Roseanne Barr. We have absolutely no qualms calling this awful. It's AWFUL.


Cuba Gooding, Sr. I don't know what's worse - his singing, or the turn his son's acting career took.


Jimi Hendrix. And, finally, we have to include this one. But not to be among the worst. On the contrary, it's the best. We just needed something to make us proud of being American again. And, yes, we realize it's not from a sporting event. Oh well, not every list can be perfect.
